#1 (Ukraine War) – Ukraine’s Non-Navy Navy Grows Russia’s Submarine Force by Two?
On May 19th, Ukraine’s military claimed they struck and destroyed a Russian Karakurt Class Missile Corvette called the Tsiklon using an ATACMS (MGM-140 Army Tactical Missile System) missile.
If true Ukraine added two new submarines to Russia's Black Sea fleet TO&E.
Ukraine initially reported an attack on a Natya class minesweeper called Kovrovets, A few days later they also reported an attack on the Tsiklon as well.
There is no clear evidence that either ship was damaged or destroyed in the attack though there is anecdotal evidence suggesting at least one of the ships may have been sunk close to where the vessel was last moored in Sevastopol.
Video shows there was an attack on Sevastopol that day with damage to a nearby buildings with all ships dispersed from the nearby pier.
A satellite image shows a Russian rescue ship a hundred meters from where the Tsiklon was last moored that appears to show a ships mast sticking out of the water, so the Russians may have lost a vessel during the May 19th attack.
If indeed one or both ships were sunk, then that would be more proof of Ukraine’s continued mastery over Russia’s Black Sea fleet and more proof that Russia still has no clue how to defend its navy from either missiles or drones (aerial and naval).
Some reports suggest there were about a dozen casualties including a half dozen dead but again this is speculation because Russia again will not confirm that the attack even occurred but did give the usual “we shot down all missiles and drones” again.
It is Fifty-fifty if Ukraine sank either of the two ships though there is evidence that an attack had occurred, and a ship was damaged or destroyed.
#2 (Ukraine War) – Russia Bombs Ukraine's “Harry Potter Castle” in Odessa
For some reason Russia decided to attack an Odessa landmark known as Ukraine's “Harry Potter Castle” located in a park on the Black Sea.
No reason was given by Russia for attacking the building which killed 5 and wounded 32 people.
The building was built by former Ukrainian politician Serhiy Kivalov and was used as a private law school and personal residence.
Ukraine's military believes the building was struck by a Russian Iskander-M missile with a cluster warhead which makes this a deliberate attack on a civilian target making this yet another war crime perpetrated by the Russian military on the Ukrainians.
In similar previous attacks Russia has claimed certain buildings such as restaurants and hotels were used by Ukraine’s military thus the attacks. In an earlier attack they hit a restaurant in Kharkiv because members of Ukraine’s military ate there. So over a dozen civilians were killed because members of Ukraine’s military ate there too.
Mr. Kivalov was injured in the attack on his home and law school.
Will the useless United Nations do anything about it, of course not, they are more interested in punishing Israel for retaliating against after the innocent lads of Hamas from the religion of peace massacred over a thousand Jewish citizens on October 7th of last year.
Thousands of innocents have been killed by the Russians which is par for course in Russian history, it is what they do, and nothing is ever done to punish them for it.
RIP to the five killed in the attack and a pray for a fast recovery for the injured.
RIP to Ukraine’s Harry Potter Castle:(.
#3 (Photography\Nature) – Amazing What you can Photograph Around your Front Porch
A few weeks ago, I decided to go outside and sit on the porch to think (I have some issues), get some fresh air and listen to the Cicada’s do their thing.
I had not done this in years, but I am glad I did because it is amazing what you can find on or near your front porch.
The first time I sat on the porch I began to notice the wildlife around my home, the birds chirping, spiders crawling around looking for a snack, flowers and of course the very loud Cicada’s.
The second time I went out to the porch I brought out my old cellphone and started taking some pictures of the local micro wildlife and flora.
I now go out and sit on the porch most everyday just after I get up when the day hasn’t gotten hot yet.
Enjoy the pictures:
