Why would Tucker Carlson interview Vladimir Putin?
Did you know Oklahoma had mountains, I didn’t?
Why I believe Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” is the best rock music album ever.
Welcome to “Three for Sunday” newsletter number #4.
I hope you have had a good week.
As for myself, I am doing fair to middling, nice and quiet the way I like it.
Hope you enjoy the read and if you do please subscribe to the newsletter, it would be much appreciated:).
Thank you and have a good one.
#1 (Ukraine War) – Why would Tucker Carlson Interview Vladimir Putin?
To preface this first section, I am not a fan of Tucker Carlson nor in general libertarians, just don’t.
He fancies himself as a champion of conservative causes but talks more like a libertarian.
Quite a few people assume he is a conservative, but I doubt many conservatives would give the thug a platform to propagandize on, he did.
A few years ago, Carlson got fired from Fox News for reasons and I really don’t care, it is what it is.
After his firing Carlson started a company on X\Twitter in which he does the same thing he did on Fox News.
For some reason Carlson thought it would be a good idea to go to Russia and interview authoritarian president for life Vladimir Putin.
He gave Putin a large platform in the United States to justify his actions against Ukraine and to spread some good old fashioned regime BS and propaganda.
You just do not allow a thug like Putin to do that, Carlson carried his water for him.
You could have played a softball game with the questions he asked Putin, rather sad.
I do not follow Carlson on X\Twitter but have caught bits of it and he gives off the impression that he is a Russophile and loathes Ukraine especially their president Zelensky.
That’s fine, you are not going like everyone but to equate Zelensky to Putin, even making it seem like Ukraine is worse than Russia is disingenuous and dangerous.
Russia are not the good guys here, I do not care what they thought Ukraine had done, they didn’t deserve that and people like Carlson should know better.
Money and clicks are not everything.
If you listen to Libertarians, you can tell they bought the Russian’s view hook, line and sinker.
They believe Ukraine are run by Nazi’s, the CIA started and then ran the “Maiden” revolution of 2014 and Zelensky\Ukraine are eviler and more corrupt than Russia.
Funny thing though Russia is the one that invaded Ukraine not vice versa.
I believe people have a right to believe what they want but in this case Tucker Carlson was wrong. He should not have interviewed Putin thus giving him a small victory to crow about.
Carlson is not a traitor as some say but it was not a good idea to talk to someone who brutalized another country using lame excuses.
Okay, getting off my soapbox now, like I said I am no fan of Carlson, he is arrogant and overrated and I believe the interview was a mistake.
He gave Putin a sympathetic ear and a platform to justify his actions in regard to Ukraine.
Hundreds of thousands of people are dead now because of that man and a good third of Ukraine is destroyed and Tucker Carlson gave him attention.
Not good Tucker.
#2 (Travel) – I Bet you didn’t know Oklahoma had Mountains.
Elk Mountain, Wichita Mountains, Oklahoma Photo by Author
I got a crisp dollar bill that says those living outside of the US state of Oklahoma did not know this state had mountains.
I didn’t and I researched the trip, pretty good of me huh?
I found out they had mountains while traveling to see my brother and his family in Lawton a small military town in southwest Oklahoma.
I had assumed Oklahoma was just a giant open prairie known for the dust bowl and land races.
Who knew?
While traveling down I-44 south of Oklahoma City I could have sworn I thought I saw a mountain in the far distance, Oklahoma doesn’t have mountains, do they? I said this out loud to my parents.
I found out they do, and the mountains are called the Wichita Mountain’s.
You would think while looking for Lawton and Ft Sill on Google maps that I would have noticed the area had mountains, I didn’t, so I had to give myself two thumbs down for the miss.
It was a pleasant surprise to see them, and we had a great time exploring them later.
The mountain I saw in the distance is called Mt Scott and the mountain sits a few miles from Lawton and then the mountain chain spreads west about 100 miles.

You could compare the size to the Appalachians on the east coast though smaller.
The mountain range is also a US national park called the Wichita Mountains National Refuge and it is here where I first saw an elk and wild buffalo.
You never know what you are going to see once you head out your front door.
#3 (Music) – Why I Believe Pink Floyd’s Album “The Wall” is so Great.
I like the British rock band “Pink Floyd” , while not my favorite band they do have my all-time favorite music album called “The Wall”.
“The Wall” is a soundtrack for a movie of the same name made in 1979 about a British rocker named Pink.
As the movie progresses Pink’s mental health declines until he ends up having a mental breakdown.
I first noticed Pink Floyd while stationed at RAF Alconbury, a base in central England in the late 1987 after seeing the movie.
I ended up getting the soundtrack at a mall in the nearby English city of Peterborough a few days later.
I love the album, there is not a bad song on it and I consider it to be one of the greatest rock albums of all time.
My favorite song on the album is called “The Trial” a very powerful song in which the main character’s mental illness comes to a head.
Great album,
If you are a fan of rock music, give it a listen.
